Yet here he was, effortlessly identifying the age of a resident's salted fish by scent and wielding a paper-cutting scissor to recreate building silhouettes. This down-to-earth side made Rafayel seem more approachable. With free time on his hands, Michael wandered along the towering white walls, their weathered surfaces adorned with moss. He couldn't help but be reminded of Rafayel's paintings. As he turned a corner, he spotted Rafayel sitting alone. He was on a stone bench in a secluded courtyard.
